A few pictures from this week...

Mason got into my lipgloss. I'm not sure it's his color.

Before school on Thursday.

Can I Get An Amen?

When I walked in Mason's room this morning he was having Bible class. Like any good teacher he made sure each of his friends had a Bible. His song selections were "Pat The Bible," "Baby Jesus," and "Jesus Loves Me."

Too Smart For His Own Good

Question: What do you do if you don't want your mom to put ear drops in your ear?

Answer: You pee your pants while she is holding you on her lap.

This was Mason's last day for ear drops. He actually ended up doing a lot better with them than he did the first day. Don't get me wrong, though, he definitely never liked them as is illustrated by the above question and answer. I guess he wanted to go out with a bang. Unfortunately he ended up having to get the drops again--I guess he wasn't as smart as he thought he was.

Pajama Day At Sunshine School

You can't tell in the picture, but Mason has on his Handy Manny pajamas (the new favorite in our house). He has two pairs of Handy Manny pajamas that he wears ALL of the time.

This is what I have to look foward to...

FOUR times a day! After Mason crying about his ear all day yesterday I took him to the doctor this morning. Unfortunately, his right ear is still infected. Since he just finished a round of oral antibiotics, the Dr. prescribed ear drops instead. As you can tell from the picture he's not enjoying them so much. The directions said to hold his head sideways for five minutes to make sure the drops go all the way down. I don't think that's going to be possible.

Oxymoron

A Dry Clean Only shower curtain. Seriously, the person who designed this obviously didn't think about the fact that a major component of a shower is water. Unfortunately I bought one without realizing it. I guess I will be making a trip back to Dillards.

What we've been up to...

Not much. Mason was sick last week, so things were rather boring around here. I had a few cute pictures from this weekend and one from today that I wanted to post, though. Mason has had a fascination with earphones lately as you can tell from the top two pictures. In the first one he is listening to Jonathan's ipod. He found it on the desk and somehow got it working. This is how we found him in the living room. You can see him using his finger on the screen. In the second one he is watching a Muppet movie with Jonathan while I was cleaning house. They were using the earphones because I was vaccuming. They both look pretty intense. The last one is of him and Jarett eating lunch at his Handy Manny table today. They always have so much fun together.

What is wrong with these two pictures?

In case you didn't notice, Mason has taken over my chair in both pictures. First the comfy massage chair, then my relaxing lawn chair. In the second picture, note the chair to the left that I got to sit in while he reclined and enjoyed his Sprite.

A Visit And Some Visitors

While I was in Oklahoma I got to go and visit my friend Olivia and baby Benjamin again. Benjamin is the cutest and sweetest little baby! I got to love on him all I wanted, and Liv and I got to catch up on what is going on in our lives. We had so much fun, but it makes me sad that we don't live closer to each other. Maybe one day, though!

Last weekend Julie and Gabe came to visit. I don't think Mason left their sides the entire time they were here. We had a really good time, and I'm so glad they came to visit. I think Mason would second that!

Christmas Texas Style

I'm finally writing about our Christmas in Texas! I've been out of town for two weeks, and while I had so much fun I didn't have much time to blog. Anyway, we had a great time celebrating with Jonathan's family. The last two years we have gone out to eat and then come back and opened presents. It has been really enjoyable and a little more relaxing. I do have to say that I've missed my father-in-law's pork roast and spaetzle and my mother-in-laws red cabbage, though! Jonathan's dad is quite the chef. When Jonathan and I first met I was intimidated to cook for him because he was always talking about how great of a cook his dad was. I have to admit he was right, but I'm no longer intimidated. Instead, I enjoy reaping the benefits of his culinary talents. Every time I eat at their house it is like eating in a first class restaurant. Okay, I'll quite digressing and get back on track! Like I said we had a wonderful time, and it was really fun watching Mason and Amelia open presents. I know everyone with children would agreee that while getting present is great, it is even more fun to watch the excitement as your children open theirs. Mason's two favorite things from Mimi and Grandad are his Melissa and Doug birthday cake (he serves it to us quite frequently and always with candles) and his Elmo Christmas countdown (we have watched it so more times than we can count). Brad, Cat, and Amelia got him a musical intrument set which he also really enjoys, but not as much as we love listening to it!

Mason was so excited about the stockings! His favorite thing in his stocking was bubbles. It's funny how the simplest things are the most exciting.

We laughed because Mason is already getting underwear in his stocking. With motorcyles on them, his are much more exciting than the older boys' underwear!

We got Amelia an Abby Cadabby which Mason would have really liked to keep for himself.
Our attempt at getting a cute Christmas pajama picture. This is the only one I got of them both sitting still. Don't they look thrilled?
