Big Fish

This Saturday Grandad took Mason and Jonathan on a fishing expedition. Mason was fully equipped with a new Spider-Man fishing rod and tackle box. Unfortunately, this stylish pole broke halfway through the trip when Jonathan reportedly hooked "a big one" and Spidey just didn't have enough strength to bring that one in. The group did manage to catch a nice catfish - or "whale" - as Mason insisted that it was. I think everyone had a good time.

Motorcycle or Dinosaur?

Mason's class had just gone down for a nap on Thursday when his teacher Kendra walked by the room and heard Mason say, "Okay, everybody let's be motorcycles!" Kendra said that every child was standing up making motorcycle noises and moving their hands like they were on a motorcycle. She went in and told them that they weren't supposed to be motorcycles right now, and they needed to lie down. They did what she said, but as she was walking out of the room she heard Mason say, "Okay, now let's be dinosaurs!" Kendra said all of the kids got up and were acting like dinosaurs. She went back in and talked to them, and fortunately Mason didn't attempt any more uprisings after that. Now I've just got to figure out how to funnel his leadership abilities in a positive direction.

Easter in FTG

We went to Fort Gibson this weekend, and we had a really good time. Saturday my parent's church had a community Easter Egg Dash, and Mason got more than enough eggs. He took off when they said go and had his basket overflowing in no time. I think he had most of the candy eaten by the time we got home. His two favorite things from the Easter Bunny were a "Hungry, Hungry Hippos" game and a Sponge Bob underwear set. Despite the fact that Mason does not watch Sponge Bob he is completely obsessed with it. Whatever he sees with Sponge Bob on it (bandaids, yogurts, toothbrushes, fruit snacks, swimsuits, etc.) he always asks for. I figured what could be the harm in a cute, yellow pajama set. Doesn't the face explain it all?

Arboretum

Jonathan had a few days off last week so on Wednesday we went to the Arboretum and had a picnic. It was fun, but frustrating because Mason seriously wouldn't look at the camera. Except for the pictures of him splashing I only got one picture of him smiling from the front, and it was blurry (I put it on here anyway). This picture pretty much sums up my attempt to get a picture of Mason looking at the camera.

We worked in the yard for over an hour on Saturday night, and Mason seriously ran (not walked) with his mower almost the entire time. It wore me out just watching him!

Gift for the Easter Bunny

Mason was building towers for the Easter Bunny the other day. I guess he is trying to insure that he gets a basket full of treats!

Disorderly Conduct

While Mason's class was on the playground yesterday his teacher saw him pulling his pants up. She went over and asked him what he was doing, and with a proud smile on his face he told her that he went pee. I knew the day would come. Mason loves to pee outside, but hopefully next time he will use a little bit better discretion in where he pees :)
