Cheeeeese!

I got the camera out to take a picture of the boys the other day, and as soon as I pointed it at Max he threw his head back, crinkled his nose, and said, "Cheeeese!" The way it sounded was so funny. Unfortunately, he's not quite as eager to perform his new trick as he was in the beginning. I think I've made one too many requests. Notice the bump in the middle of his forehead when he does it--kind of funny.

The Chair

No, not the old, country song by George Strait (if you've even heard of it), but the well worn green one in our living room. It is one of my boys' favorite places to be together. As soon as Max sees Mason sitting there he crawls up in the chair and cuddles next to him. Mason usually responds by pulling Max close to him and giving him a squeeze. It makes me so happy to walk into the room and see them sitting there together. Waking Mason up with a kiss.

Never Boring

Today was Mason's last day of school, and his last day to be in the 3-year old class. He has loved his new school and has had such a fun year. The teacher made a class book that she sent home with each of the kids today, and it had a profile of each child in it. Mason loved reading the book with me and seeing what each of his friends wrote. When I came to his page, I couldn't help but laugh. First of all, for his self-portrait he drew a spider (with 6 legs). He said it was him in a spider costume. The rest of his answers were as follows:

Favorite things I learned this year..."When you cross your legs you think faster. I learned to write my name too."
My favorite color..."Blue"
My favorite book..."ABC Superhero"
My favorite toy..."My water guns so I can have fights with my dad."
When I grow up I want to be..."A diver because I like to swim. I would see scary fish and shoot them. I'd make friends with the good fish."

Little Architect

Max loves to build with blocks, and when he isn't crashing them over he does pretty well. I love watching him concentrate while he stacks them on top of each other and how he slowly places them on top of each other so they won't fall.

18 months

It's hard to believe Max is 18 months old! He is the sweetest little thing, and I spend quite a bit of time squeezing him and kissing him. A few of the things I love about Max right now... I love the way he backs into my lap with a book when he wants to read, I love the way he imitates every sound and move that Mason makes, I love the way he says, "Nnno!" and purses his lips together, I love the way he says, "Yeah, yeah" instead of yes, I love the way he laughs when his daddy chases and tickles him, I love the way he gets excited and dances like crazy when he hears music, I love the way he cuddles with me and kisses me right on the lips. I love everything about my little Roo, and I'm trying hard to savor each precious moment as I watch him grow.

Destroya Spider

by my crazy boy...Once upon a time there was a monster and he was a tarantula that was huge and every time he went into the city everybody was scared of him because they were afraid he would spin webs on them. He only spun webs on bad guys, though. He was huge so he actually lived in a giant’s belly. One day the monster went out of the giant’s belly and he pressed his chest and he became a good guy because he used to just be a bad guy. He was huge, humongous. He went to a restaurant and ate potato salad made with spider food. It tasted yucky so he spit it out on someone’s face. He said “Ewww, that’s yuck food!” He also had eyeball shrimp and he tasted it, but he didn’t eat it because he was allergic to it. When he left the restaurant his belly got humongous and he took over the whole town! Luke Skywalker hit him with a light saber and he said, “Awww, I’m dead,” and they cut his head off.

The End

(This story was written after Easter dinner where we had both shrimp and potato salad. Mason was repulsed by both.)
