Random Pictures and a Few Funny Words

We have had VBS this week, and Mason is loving it. He was so excited on Monday to wear his VBS shirt.

Is it obvious why he is eating his ice cream outside?

Mason with Jonathan's old Transformers. He loves them, but isn't so good at transforming them yet.

We made peanut butter playdough the other day, and this is the face he made out of his.

A few funny things Mason has said in the last couple of days....
- "I won't poke Baby Max's eyes out."
- After pooping Mason said, “Don’t worry dad, it’s just a snake. It won’t bite you.”
- “When I was a big boy I ate chocolate fudge cookies and watched Sponge Bob.”
- While praying Mason said, “Thank you God for Baby Max (pointing at my stomach), Baby Ruby (pointing at his stomach), and that baby (pointing at Jonathan’s stomach).” I asked Mason if Daddy had a baby in his stomach too and he said, "Yes. His name is George. "

Happy Birthday, Uncle Brad!

Last night we went to eat at Benihana's for my brother-in-law Brad's birthday. He chose Benihana's because it is a Hibachi grill, and he thought Mason and Amelia would like it. He was definitely right! Mason and Amelia loved it. They watched with wide eyes and had fun saying "Wow!" back and forth to each other. Cat brought her camera and got some cute pictures at the restaurant and at the nearby fountain afterwards.

My Hero

My brother got this mask for Mason in Mexico. I washed it, but Mason informed me that it smells like mustard--interesting. Anyway, he loves it and looks pretty cute in it. Thanks, Joshie!

Fun on the Fourth

We went to Fort Gibson this weekend to celebrate the holiday and to go to the wedding of one of my cousins who is also a good friend. It was a good and relaxing trip, and Mason had a blast. He absolutely LOVED popping fire crackers. One of the advantages of celebrating in a small town is we actually got to do our own fireworks (legally). I'm not sure the three boys he was popping fireworks with were the best influences. Jonathan, Josh, and Gabe are just a bunch of overgrown kids when it comes to things like that, and they had just as much fun as Mason. They did make sure he was safe, though, which was the most important thing.
Jonathan and Josh doing bottle rockets.

They all four look like they have been up to something, which was probably true.

This action figure was somewhat charred from previous years, but Mason wanted to contribute to the damage--exactly what I wanted him to be doing.

A fairly decent family picture before the wedding.

Funny picture in my mom's reading glasses--such a silly boy!

Boy Parts and a Foot

Jonathan and I had our ultrasound yesterday and found out that we are having a boy! The thing that excited us the most, though, was that the baby looked healthy. I was excited to tell Mason the news, but he just looked at me like I wasn't telling him anything new. I think it would have been hard to convince him otherwise.

Now to explain the title....when the doctor was finished she handed us the pictures that she had printed off for us. There were three--one of his foot and leg and two of his boy parts (I guess she wanted to be certain we knew it was a boy). At first I was kind of frustrated at the randomness of the pictures. Eventhough you can't tell that much from ultrasound pictures, I would have at least liked one of the baby's profile or body. I then started to feel ungrateful because I knew the most important thing was that the baby looked healthy. Anyway, here are two of our pictures. I didn't think I needed to post both boy part pictures :).
