Karate Kid

Mason started taking Karate this fall and so far he is loving it. It definitely fits his personality, and he can look pretty intense when he is out on the mat. You can see the intensity in the pictures below. It is cute. He started off as a white belt, but recently took a test and earned his advanced white belt.
Max has learned a few moves as well and is so funny when he walks around doing kicks and making karate sounds.

Ready for church...

Max tried out two different looks before church today. Fortunately he chose the last one minus the hat.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween was really fun this year since Max was able to join in the fun with Mason. Both boys loved their costumes and enjoyed practicing their moves before we left the house. As they went from door to door, Max was right at Mason's heels ready to get his candy. He couldn't wait to ring the doorbell and he got upset if we passed a house. Now we have so much candy that I have no idea what we are going to do with it.

We enjoyed having Mason's friend Gabe go trick or treating with us.

Love This

Mason and Max decided to hide from Jonathan while eating their peanut butter sandwiches. They looked really cute under the table even though they were supposed to be sitting at the table, not under it!

Family Day

Jonathan had the day off on Friday so we went to the beach for a few hours. The last couple of times we've been have been perfect. The beaches aren't crowded and the water has been so calm and shallow.

Ninja Party

Mason's birthday party was on Saturday. He has been really into Legos lately, especially the Lego Ninjago sets, so he wanted a ninja party. We had it at a Martial Arts place, and it was a lot of fun!
Mason got to cut his cake with a real sword.

Beach Devotional

A few pictures from our church's beach devotional tonight...

5!!!

Can my oldest little boy really be five years old? As of today, it is true and oh, what a fun five years it has been! We have enjoyed every moment of the last five years with our oldest little boy. He is funny, yet matter of fact. He is high energy, yet focused (when he wants to be). He is independent, yet social. He is tough, yet sweet. He is my little boy, yet he is getting bigger. Words cannot describe how much I love, love, love my precious Mason. Happy birthday, Mason Carter!

Superhero muffins for breakfast, thanks to Mimi.

Cookie cake at school with his friends.

Mason wanted pancakes for his birthday dinner, but the adults had steak and shrimp. Carroll left the heads on the shrimp, and they looked really fancy, but Jackie and I had to have ours taken off before we would touch them! Mason ate steak, too, but no "eyeball shrimp" as he calls it.

Mimi and Grandad (or according to Max, "Bandad") got to be here for Mason's birthday, and we had a really fun visit. Mason is clinging to his birthday presents in this picture.

We had a fun time celebrating Mason's special day with our family!
