Happy Birthday To Me...The Big 3-0!
Wow, I cannot believe I am 30! I literally feel like I just had my 26th birthday, and it's weird because I don't really feel any older (except for the wrinkles and age spots I now see on my face and my post baby body). I guess getting married and having kids makes time go by even faster, and the last four years have been absolutely wonderful! A lot of this is due to my amazing husband and he demonstrated this last night. When I went to let him in the front door he had a huge gift bag with a Spider Man balloon on it and a card in his hand. I was so shocked. I read the card first, and it was so sweet I immediately started crying. In the card he said he wanted to give me 30 special gifts that represented things that he's come to know about me, things that have had significance for me, things I like, and a few random items. I have to admit I love surprises and presents, and I couldn't wait to dig into the bag! The thing that meant the most was how much thought he put into the gifts and how much he really listens to all of my ramblings about what I like, want, and need. My last surprise was that he took today off so that we could do something special. A few pictures below--one with all of my surprises and a couple of favorites!

Please Pray
Please pray for my friend Kamara, her husband Rod, and their sweet baby girl. Here is the link to their blog that tells their story.

Building a Snowman is for the Birds
Last week Mason and I went outside to build a snowman, make snow angels, have snowball fights--you know, all of the usual fun things you do in the snow. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worst when we started to build Frosty. While rolling his abdomen I spied something red in my large snowball. I looked at it curiously then looked down to see an unpleasant surprise, a bloody, smashed, dead bird. I seriously screamed, ran, and about threw up. Birds are kind of gross to me anyway, and a dead one is even worse. After this, I quarantined Mason from that quarter of the yard. I was also extremely cautious while finishing Frosty in case I unearthed any other dead creatures. I think it is safe to say that the birds probably didn't enjoy the snow as much as we did!

3 Months
Wow, Max turned three months old yesterday! It is sad to think that he will never be this little again, but I know that with each passing month things get a little more fun. I love to see him smile, coo, kick, and act so happy right now. I also enjoy watching him as he grows more responsive to the world around him. He loves for you to talk and sing to him and has even been enjoying reading some books. He weighs about 13 and a half pounds right now and still has his sweet, chubby cheeks!

I am FC Dallas!
A few weeks ago when it was 7o degrees outside (in the middle of January!) Mason and I went in the backyard to play. He started kicking the soccer ball, but decided he couldn't finish playing until he put his soccer uniform on. All he is missing is a pair of cleats. Who needs cleats, though, when you have a cool pair of Spiderman shoes? He was running around the yard kicking the ball yelling, "I am FC Dallas!"

WARNING!
After playing pirates with your child on Sunday morning, remember to remove your gold, hoop earring prior to entering the church building. If you do not heed this advice the consequences will be numerous inquisitive looks and your child's Bible class teacher looking at you like you are crazy.
