We Love, We Love Sunshine School!

Mason's Sunshine School Program was last week, and it was really fun. The theme was sports, and the teachers and directors did such a great job planning everything. Mason's class was dressed up as basketball players, and they looked so cute in their cut off t-shirts and sweat bands! Mason was really excited about the wrist and head bands. I was also excited because he actually sang. After the program we went to his room where we got his end of the year book (so cute), and then we went to the fellowship hall for ice cream. I'm pretty sad that this is Mason's last year to go to school here. We have really loved being a part of Sunshine School and all of the wonderful people that we've become friends with!

Baby Blessing

Max's Baby Blessing at church was this Sunday, and it was a really special day. All of the babies were given a baby Bible book, a special letter to open on their twelfth birthday, a burp cloth with 1 Samuel 1:27 on it, and a little picture frame with their picture in it. We also received a bouquet of flowers with a special meaning. I cannot remember the exact wording used, but I will do my best. The tall white flower represents the father who is to be the head of the family, the red flower represents the mother who is has given life blood to the child, the yellow flower represents the baby who is as precious as gold, the baby's breath represents the church who supports and protects the family, and the red ribbon represents Christ who holds everything together. Max also went to Bible class for the first time at our church, and he seemed to like it. Here are a few pictures from the day.

Unbelievable!

I was this young man's first grade teacher. Now he is performing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and his You Tube video has over 11,000,000 views. I knew he had talent then, but it is so weird to see him all over the internet and on T.V. I think it is safe to say that he has moved up just a little from performing at our elementary school. I'm so proud of you, Greyson!

6 Months

I cannot believe 6 months have gone by since Max was born! Time is completely flying by, but we are enjoying every moment with sweet, little Max. You forget how much changes in only a months time. Max loves to talk (his new sound is dada), laugh, and smile. He is super ticklish and has the cutest little laugh when you tickle his feet, legs, or the sides of his tummy. He is also majorly drooling and chewing on his hands, which makes me think he may be getting some teeth. Max is also sitting unsupported some and is starting to move a little while he is on his tummy. He's definitely not in a hurry to go anywhere, though, which is a change from Mason! His stats this time were 16 lbs 2 oz (25th%) and 27 1/2 inches (75th%).

First time to try cereal. He loved it, but his tummy didn't. It was not a fun night!

Road Trip

Well, for those of you who don't know, the Air Force has graciously decided to assign Jonathan to work in Florida at Eglin AFB starting this July. This assignment was slightly more pleasing than say...Alaska....which was one of the other possibilities.

The base is located right by Destin and Fort Walton Beach, FL. This past weekend we took a brief road trip in preparation for the move in order to find a house and scope out the area. An 11 hour trip took about 15 hours since we had a 3 1/2 year old and a 5 month old. Mason and Max both did great, but we had to stop to feed Max a million times and let him get out of his carrier.

Needless to say Mason broke every one of my rules (and then some) regarding "hotel hygiene".

1) Never go barefoot on the carpet
2) Never touch the comforters on the bed

3) Never wrap youself in the comforter and roll around on the carpet at the same time

4) Never clean the toilet lid with a Kleenex and bare hands

5) Never lick the mirror

6) Never run your hands through the sand of the ashtray looking for seashells

In the end, we had a lot of fun seeing the sights and playing on the beach. Mason was definitely in hyperactive, super-spastic mode the whole time. Jonathan and I were laughing that this was probably revenge for all the grief that we caused our parents on family vacations. Oh, and we found a house. Florida, here we come!

This cracks me up....

Jonathan has been helping Mason give Max piggy back rides. Mason runs like a mad man around the house while Jonathan holds Max on Mason's shoulders. Max has the hugest smile on his face the entire time. This picture doesn't do it justice, but it is pretty hilarious to watch!

5 Months

Max turned 5 months old on Sunday. I know I say this every month, but he is such a sweet baby. He is easy going and happy and is usually content to sit on my lap and chew on a toy. He has finally started eating every 3 hours instead of every 2 (this has made my life much easier), and he is sleeping fairly consistently through the night. Some of his favorite things to do right now are drool, play with his feet, sing songs, and watch Mason run around like crazy. If he is ever fussy I can usually calm him by singing "Five Little Monkeys." He loves that song, and Mason has even gotten the words and the motions down.
