5 Months

Max turned 5 months old on Sunday. I know I say this every month, but he is such a sweet baby. He is easy going and happy and is usually content to sit on my lap and chew on a toy. He has finally started eating every 3 hours instead of every 2 (this has made my life much easier), and he is sleeping fairly consistently through the night. Some of his favorite things to do right now are drool, play with his feet, sing songs, and watch Mason run around like crazy. If he is ever fussy I can usually calm him by singing "Five Little Monkeys." He loves that song, and Mason has even gotten the words and the motions down.

Do you think the pollen count is high?

After swollen eyes a few times this spring, I've been keeping Mason indoors and giving him Claritin and perscription nasal spray. I didn't even think about him going outside for recess at school. When he woke up from his nap yesterday this is what he looked like and both eyes looked like this by the time he went to bed last night. It hurts me just to see him, and I can't get him to quit rubbing them! Any suggestions? Why does the perfect weather have to be during allergy season?

Random

I've always been a pretty random person, and my thoughts are about as unpredictable as they come. Somehow, though, Mason is proving to be even more random than me. He is in a stage where he loves to tell jokes (usually not even close to being funny) and die laughing at himself. One of the things that he has been doing lately that he thinks is hilarious is calling people names. I know this sounds mean, but he is not name calling in a bad way, but in a totally random way. For example, he will say something out of the blue like, "Mom, you're Barnes and Noble." or "Max your Tony Romo." I can't help but laugh because the things he says are so strange. Some of the names he has called us are....

-Biloxi (as in Biloxi, MS)
-Plasma Car
-Constellation
-Indoor Chick-fil-a Soccer Shoe
-Whack-a-Mole (some game he saw a commercial for)
-Toe Cramp
-Tofu
-Israelite
-Naaman (from the Bible story)

I wish I could remember some of the other ones, but I'm sure there will be more :).

Easter 2010

This was a good Easter because we got to celebrate with both of our parents, as well as my brother. We missed the rest of our family, though, and Mason especially missed getting to hunt eggs with Amelia. A few pictures from the weekend....

Pictures from the End of March

Celebrating Jonathan's 30th birthday! I was not the best birthday party hostess since I had a stomach virus.

Max waking his brother up from his nap. Mason loves to cuddle with him.

Mason and Max watching Baby Einstein together.

Visit with the Boswell's-- Max got to hang out with Case, and Mason got to have a sleepover with Macy and Jarett. He had so much fun!

Max really likes to love on his lion. We have named him Leo :)

Mason started a Soccer Tots class and has really liked it. I have also enjoyed going to watch him, all except for the first week when I locked my keys in my car (typical Jill).

We went to stay with my parents over Spring Break and also got to visit my grandpa. Mason enjoyed feeding the birds with him.

Max enjoyed visiting my parents as well, but he was pretty worn out by the end of the week!

Fun With Aunt Julie

My sister Julie LOVES my boys and they love her just as much! Since Julie and I are so close, it means a lot that they have such a special relationship with her. Hopefully I will be just as good of an aunt to her kids one day. Her husband Gabe is really good to them as well, and Mason thinks Gabe is pretty cool :). A few weeks ago we went to stay with Julie, and we had so much fun. She had gone to the store and bought a whole tub of toys for Mason to play with while we were there, as well as a Spiderman place setting for him to eat on. He had the most fun looking through all of the toys! She also got tickets for us to go to a OKC Thunder game, let Mason take the biggest bubble bath I've ever seen, and helped him make dinosaur cookies. Thanks for all of the fun Julie and Gabe! We love you so much!

Spiderman swim gear that my mom got for Mason.

Mason's two favorite things at the game were the fireworks at the beginning and the cotton candy.

Gabe was the one who got to hold Mason while he ate the cotton candy :)

Max enjoying the game. He did not like the noise at the beginning, but once I got him to sleep he did fine.

Mason in his Rumble shirt and hat Julie got for him.

The infamous bubble bath. FYI: Don't turn the jets on when you put a lot of bubbles in the water.

4 Months

After being out of town for a week, my internet being down, and having a stomach virus I'm finally posting Max's 4 month picture and stats. Better late than never! Max is a pretty laid back little guy and is happy to just sit back and take things in. I love his sweet, shy smile and his big, blue eyes. He loves to be talked to and sang to, and he also loves to talk back. Max has rolled from tummy to back several times, and has rolled from his back to his side (not quite all of the way over). Everything looked good at his doctor's appointment except for his poor, sensitive skin, and he survived his shots. He weighed 14 lb 8 oz (50th%) and was 25 1/2 inches long (75th%).
